Welcome

Our desire is to help you understand what the Bible teaches about God, salvation, and the Christian life.

Whether you are new to Christianity or seeking to grow in faith and understanding, this page will guide you step by step.

The Gospel : What is it?

The Gospel means "good news". It is the message of salvation through Jesus Christ.

The Bible teaches:

  • God is holy and the Creator of all things.
    • “Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.”  Revelation 4:8
    • "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth."  Genesis 1:1
  • Man has sinned and fallen short of the glory of God
    • “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”  Romans 3:23
  • Sin brings guilt, corruption, and judgement
    • “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23
  • Jesus Christ came into this world to save sinners
    • “This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners;” 1 Timothy 1:15
  • He lived a perfect life, died for sin, and rose again
    • “Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:”  1 Peter 2:22
    • "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8
    • "And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:" 1 Corinthians 15:4
  • Salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone.
    • “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:”  Ephesians 2:8

Those who trust in Christ are forgiven and reconciled to God.

What is Reformed Christianity?

Reformed Christianity is a summary of biblical teaching, that emphasizes:

  • The authority of Scripture alone
  • Salvation by grace alone, not of works or effort
  • Christ as the only mediator between God and man
  • God’s sovereignty in and over all things

These teachings are carefully summarized in historic confessions of faith.

Why the Westminster Confession?

The Westminster Confession of Faith is one of the clearest summaries of what the Bible teaches.

It helps us:

  • Understand Biblical doctrines clearly, and in an organized way.
  • Remain faithful to Scripture
  • Teach consistently across generations

It is not above or even equal to the Bible, but a subservient guide to help us understand it more fully.

How to use this site:

Our desire is that you would grow in the faith, and we are here to provide help to that end.

Here are the best places to begin:

Take your time, read carefully, and compare everything with Scripture (.... in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so. Ac. 17:10-11)

A Final Word of Encouragement

As you read and study, consider what Scripture teaches, and seek the Lord in humility.

“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” (Psalm 119:105)

And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. (He. 10:24-25)

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. (Ro. 1:16-17)
